Available from June 2, a Web Application is now online at Palazzo Montecitorio to be consulted for discovering the political personages who have contributed towards creating Italian history.
On the occasion of the Festa della Repubblica, the Italian Chamber of Deputies decided to offer visitors an in-depth channel involving the various marble and bronze busts of the protagonists of the national, political and parliamentary life. These busts are at present to be seen on the second floor of Palazzo Montecitorio to facilitate running through the history of the sculptured political personages via filmed biographies.
The busts exhibited at the Chamber of Deputies were created to honour the memory of the representatives of political life during the periods of Italian Unity, the Kingdom of Italy and the Republican Chamber.
The Web Application is available on two interactive touch screens implemented by Interact, through the use of highly advanced technologies and languages among which:
- HTML5, CSS3 - tooffer user experience and ensure flowing web surfing, a characteristic of new generation mobile devices equipped with horizontal scrolling;
- Digital Asset Management Software - to manage and organize all the multimedia files associated to each bust.
The application displays the videos, images and the metadata associated to each bust. The videos to be seen as filmed biographies were provided by the Chamber of Deputies. The Application controlled via touch screen enables searching the personages both in alphabetical as well as chronological order.
The application functions both via cursor and via swipe. The latter is the surfing mode based on horizontal scrolling.
